Uber Eats become the first-ever delivery platform to deliver food into space. The company tied up with Yusaku Maezawa, Japanese entrepreneur to achieve its mission. Yusaku Maezawa delivered ready-to-eat canned Japanese food items in a brown paper Uber Eats bag. The food was delivered to the International Space Station (ISS) crew. Uber in a statement said that Uber Eats and Maezawa treated the astronauts to a delicious meal that was a welcome break from standard space food. The food items included beef bowl cooked in sweet sauce, boiled mackerel in miso, braised pork, and simmered chicken with bamboo shoots.

Will we ever see Swiggy and Zomato delivering food to space?

Uber Eats has left behind all the food delivery platforms with its first space delivery. Who thought we will see this one day? But as it has set a new record, people may also think about their other 2 favourite food delivery platforms as a space delivery platform as well. No one has yet commented on the statement. But I personally think that if life is possible on Mars, Uber Eats has already delivered food into space, so Swiggy and Zomato will also do the same one day. Last year a person even asked Swiggy if they will ever deliver food to space. Swiggy answered him with a rocket gif saying we have already started.

What Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has to say

Dara Khosrowshahi said that Uber is on moon to make the first successful delivery to space. Their goal is to be available and help the people wherever they may go. Uber is proud to serve the astronauts at the International Space Station. Adding humour, he said that Yusaku Maezawa gets a thumbs up for his deliver, keeping the fact in mind it took him a bit longer than the usual 30 minutes delivery time. To celebrate this achievement, the company is offering a deal for its customers. It is giving $10 off tot the customers who order for $20 or more. The offer is for the first 24,800 people who will use the code-SPACEFOOD between December 13 to December 19.

Maezawa’s next planned space mission

Maezawa is currently working on another joint venture for his next space mission. It is a trip around the moon with SpaceX scheduled for 2013. Will he join hands with Uber Eats this time as well or not? For now, there are no reports, but we will keep you updated on the same.
