Notably, the telecommunications giant had also collaborated with GENTLE MONSTER, a leading name in the South Korean fashion industry for its first-ever smart glasses. The upcoming smart glasses are speculated to be simply called “HUAWEI Eyewear II”.
Leaks Hint Upgraded, Lighter HUAWEI Eyewear II
The second gen Huawei smart glasses are expected to come with several upgrades incorporating further innovations. Notably, the Huawei Eyewear is much likely to get more fashionable and cooler with the second gen. While it will now be including several new features, it would be getting lighter in weight, (precisely 20g if rumours are to be believed). Moreover, like its first smart eyewear, Huawei will be partnering with GENTLE Monster for its second HUAWEI Eyewear II too. Additionally, with an IP67 rating, the upcoming smart glasses will be both water-proof and dust proof. Furthermore, the glasses will offer non-contact wireless changing feature via NFC and thus is reported to not feature any button or connectivity port. Interestingly, Huawei has also made some significant changes to the Huawei Eyewear charging case. In the leaked images, we spotted change in the positioning of the indicating lights, Type-C port and function buttons. While there has been much news about US restrictions on the tech firm and Google-Huawei ban, it seems we would continue to witness new gadgets coming from Huawei. Notably, its subsidiary smartphone firm, Honor has also confirmed its presence at the IFA event for September 4, 2020. Therefore, even before the release, HUAWEI Eyewear II may be facing a unique challenge in the shape of intensifying US-China tensions.
