There were several conversations revolving around Coronavirus-related topics, including the critical need to #WearAMask and #IndiaFightsCorona, and #StaySafe amongst others.  According to Twitter India managing director Manish Maheshwari, the platform saw diverse emotions from Indians, expressed through the tweets. He said, “From the fight against this global pandemic, rejoicing in celebratory moments, standing up for those communities impacted by the pandemic, to bonding over rediscovered shows, interests and memes, India came together beautifully on Twitter this year.” In May 2020, there were nearly 628,809,016 tweets.  As per several reports, Amitabh Bachchan’s COVID19 confirmation tweet became the most quoted tweet of the year.  #UnionBudget2020, we saw more than 11 lakh budget-related Tweets between Jan 30th, 2020 to Feb 3rd, 2020. The budget also dominated conversations between policymakers, influencers, journalists, opinion-makers, and everyday users. #SushantSinghRajput also consumed a lot of interest on Twitter with groups being divided into whether he committed suicide or was killed. Till date, Sushant Singh fans have not given up and are still fighting for #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput.  Even Vijay’s (@actorvijay) Tweet of a selfie with his fans in Neyveli in February was widely loved and shared by fans of Tamil cinema across the country.  Indians talked about #Dil Bechara, #Soorarai Pottru and #Sarileru Neekevvaru the most on Twitter in 2020.
