With a focus on secondary school students, Teach For India in partnership with Michael & Susan Dell Foundation will procure and distribute 3000 tablets among students of Grades 6 to 10 across Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune. The aim is to help at least 15000 students gaining access to learning through technology. The two organisations will work together to promote blended learning, a mix of individualized online learning and traditional face-to-face learning, to help students build 21st-century skills. Teach For India’s main aim is to distribute 3000 gadgets to students who do not have access to any digital infrastructure required to partake in virtual learning. When schools reopen, these gadgets will be reallocated in a ‘device library’ format where each gadget can be shared by at least 5 students, expanding the impact to 15000 students in the near future. The funding from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation will also be used to support close to 80 Fellows across Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune over the next three years so that their students receive the right education they deserve. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support being offered by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation during this crucial time where so many of our children are experiencing a loss in learning.
