However, the offer is solely available for Desktop and Android users. The free access offer hasn’t been extended to iOS browsers yet. Moreover, the free offer is limited to just the first episode of the Netflix series. It then offers viewers the option to subscribe to the OTT platform to watch the entire original. However, users can enjoy the full movies available under the offer for free. Moreover, Netflix has also promised that the content selection in the offer will also be shuffled after some time. OnlyTech portal also quoted an unnamed Netflix official in its report, “You can watch select Netflix Original movies and TV episodes online for free, and without creating a Netflix account, by using a computer or Android device (iOS browsers are not supported).” The move is likely to further increase the reach of already popular platform among masses and gain fresh subscribers. But, it isn’t the first time Netflix is using freebies to lure viewers in India. The limited free access strategy aimed to attract new subscribers comes after the OTT platform closed its Free Trials in India.

Notably, Netflix had already announced to discontinue its free trial offer in the country back in December 2019. But, the decision was also followed by another tempting offer later in March 2020. In the new offer, first month of the subscription simply cost just Rs 5 for first month for the fresh subscribers.

Moreover, it had also made available the first episode of Netflix Original, Bard of Blood by making its first episode free for all. Thus, the platform will be primarily relying on the content quality of Netflix original shows and movies to make viewers chip in their money for free subscription. But offcourse the offer won’t cover all the Netflix original movies and shows.
