Where Halo is a popular first-person shooter series, Bungie design director Joseph Staten told Wired.com that the scope of their next plan is greater than that of Halo. The company gave relevant information about Destiny after some concept art and details about the game’s story was leaked on website IGN. “We weren’t quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we’ve really been up to,” read the blog entry. Microsoft has taken over Bungie in 2000. This was prior to launch of the original Xbox hardware and the first Halo. The developer separated from its corporate parent in 2007, even as Microsoft retained the rights to create Halo games. Gaming blog Kotaku had leaked information about an internal Destiny play test, which it had received from one of Bungie’s development partners.
