The Musk story

Since Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, a number of companies got their Twitter advertisements suspended. However, Apple has finally “fully resumed” its advertising on Twitter and this is a sort of a de-escalation of an impending war between the two tech giants. Musk had made his threats on a Twitter Spaces conversation earlier on Saturday, while also casually mentioning that Apple is the biggest advertiser on Twitter. Musk had been part of the chat from his airplane, with 90,000 listeners hooked on. Apple had not immediately reverted to any requests for comments.

Summing up

Following the commentary on Apple, Musk went ahead to meet Apple CEO, Tim Cook. Their “good conversation”, “resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store.” Since Musk is calling the shots at Twitter, companies such as General Mills and Pfizer have suspended their adverts on the platform. This is in retaliation to the new policy changes that need revisions in order to counter misinformation and hate speech.
